Shannon Zahuranec joined Life Cycle Geo in March 2023 with experience consulting to the mining, power, and solid waste industries. Having worked for industry in the past, Shannon couples a very practical approach to consulting with insightful application of geochemical and hydrological principals to solve groundwater quality and waste management challenges. She brings over a decade of applied experience in fate and transport of metals, in situ and passive groundwater remediation, geochemical modeling of multi-phase chemical interactions, prediction of water quality, and contaminant source identification. Her project experience includes acid rock drainage characterization and predictions, mine closure and reclamation planning and implementation, geochemical conceptual site model development, alternate source demonstration, monitored natural attenuation tiered assessment, evaluation and optimization of passive water treatment operations, and hydrogeological investigations.
Shannon enjoys spending her time with her family exploring nature, mountain biking, traveling, and reading endless books with kids.
